I am highly skilled and experienced in the assessment and treatment of trauma and very dedicated to working to alleviate the debilitating symptoms experienced by many sufferers. I work collaboratively with clients to enable them, post trauma, to resume their capacity to achieve their full potential in mental
health, employment, education and interpersonal relationships.

I treat adults and children who are suffering with symptoms of traumatic stress. I accept  referrals from  local charities including ‘Supporting Our Brave’ and ‘Fylde Veterans Association’ who fund treatment services for serving and ex military  personnel. I also accept self referrals and these clients are typically experiencing flash backs, hyper arousal or withdrawal and numbing following serious assaults, car accidents and emergency hospital admissions.

I specialise in the treatment of trauma and practice Sensorimotor Psychotherapy. I am also trained to advance level in the practice of Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), approved by the National Institute of Clinical Excellence as one of the empirically supported treatments of choice, and trained and experienced in using the  Rewind Technique for treating Post Traumatic Stress and severe phobias. I worked in Residential Child Care as well as in front line Child Protection Services and I was employed by the NSPCC for five years as a specialist worker treating children who had experienced emotional, physical and sexual abuse. In 2005, I helped to set up the Awaken Project, the first specialist multi agency team based at Blackpool Police Station, working with young people involved in sexual exploitation where I worked for six years undertaking trauma treatment work. I am Achieving Best Evidence (ABE) trained and I am used to working within the Home Office pre-trial guidance.
