The  International Society for the  Study of Trauma & Dissociation (ISSTD)
is the only international nonprofit  professional society that:
  • Promotes reasearch and training in the identification and treatment of
    dissociative disorders

  • Provides professional and public education about dissociative disorders

  • Supports international communication and cooperation among clinicians and
    investigators working in the field of dissociation, and

  • Promotes development of local component groups for study, education and
    referral.

Aims of  the ESSTD:

To promote an increase in the knowledge of Trauma, Dissociation and all disorders related to chronic  traumatisation.

To provide professional and public education about dissociation, trauma and trauma related disorders.

To support communication and co operation among clinicians and other professionals in the field of dissociation and trauma.

To stimulate national and international research projects.

To provide knowledge and education specifically to those countries in Europe who do not have easy access in this field.

The Lantern Project offers a website supporting victims of childhood  
sexual abuse, domestic violence, racial abuse and bullying.

Dr. Pat Ogden is a pioneer in somatic and psychotherapeutic approaches. She is founder and director of the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute.



Expert therapist and consultant. Dr. Fisher lectures and teaches internationally
on topics related to the integration of research and traetment and how to
introduce newer trauma treatment paradigms in traditional therapeutic
approaches.


Dr. Levine offers training in Somatic Psychhology and specialises in the treatment and understanding of chronic stress.



Dr. Siegal is the clinical professor of psychiatry of the UCLA school of medicine where he is on the faculty of the center for culture, brain and development and co director of  the Mindful Awareness Research Centre.
